Hey Andy! Kick That Leg a Little Higher!

April 27th, 2009 | by Darryl Johnston |

Home free!

It was easily one of the most exciting Red Sox moments of the last five years.

In stunning fashion, Jacoby Ellsbury stole home off of senior citizens Andy Pettite and Jorge Posada and capped a weekend sweep of the Yankees. I spent Saturday at Fenway Park and enjoyed a fireworks display of offense, beautiful weather, and a frosty beverage or two!

“Just back from the game. As far as the steal—we were standing in the new RF Box SRO (under the Cumbys sign, surprisingly good view), and I had a great view of the steal. From where I was sitting it felt like everyone in the park knew what was happening before Pettitte. Fucking crazy to see. The cool thing was just how nuts Fenway went. It really got the place jacked up, and the momentum carried thru the rest of the game.” – ragecage (poster on SoSH)
