The Old Dentist Is Coming Back To Boston

Dr. Charles Steinberg, we hardly missed ya.
According to Buster Olney of ESPN:
There are major changes looming within the structure of the Dodgers’ organization, changes that will be dictated by the direction that ownership takes in the months ahead. One of the first moves: Charles Steinberg, who had come to the Dodgers from the Red Sox, is out the door, and headed back to Boston.
Steinberg left the Red Sox less than two years ago in November of 2007. He was responsible for promotions, community relations, entertainment, advertising and customer service. Known as a PR-genius, Steinberg was the driving force behind establishing the Red Sox ‘brand’ and creating a family-oriented experience at Fenway. This of course is excluding the drunken Friday nights at the Park.
Take a look at this excerpt from The Red Sox Times:
When I awoke this morning, I found a comment had been posted to my column about the Red Sox Virtual Waiting Room and the frustrations that it has been causing some or most Red Sox fans. The comment was from none other than the Red Sox Executive Vice President of Public Affairs, Dr. Charles Steinberg.
“Yes, we’re listening. I also believe that our systems mavens are hearing the feedback loud and clear. I keep wondering if our efforts to provide convenience and hospitality would not be exchanged for the old-fashioned lines of fans, blocks long, who endure winter nights, just to be sure that they will walk away with tickets at face value. You would think that technology would have better solutions today; I believe they will tomorrow…let’s see when tomorrow comes. Thanks for posting and venting your experiences.” – Charles Steinberg, DDS
Some folks are not impressed with him returning but I am really confused as to why. He is a dentist! Whether you need a catchy billboard or a root canal, this is your guy. You read comments about Dr. Steinberg and you get the impression that he goes out of his way to do his job.
So what is the issue?
